Wallper Privacy Policy

Wallper is committed to your privacy. Read this Privacy Policy for a clear explanation of how we collect, use, disclose, and store your information.

Wallper does not require user accounts. To review or manage privacy options, open Settings → Privacy in the app, or read the latest policy at wallper.app/privacy. For corrections or general enquiries, please contact support@wallper.app.

Information We Collect

We do not require users to register or provide personally identifiable information (such as name or email address) in order to use Wallper. However, certain technical and usage data is collected automatically or upon specific user action.

  • Device information: We may collect limited technical details about your device, which may include: Hardware Identifier (HWID) for binding license keys; operating system version (macOS); device name (as assigned by the OS); IP address for regional analytics and fraud prevention; and approximate geolocation inferred from IP (country-level only).
  • Application usage data: Limited telemetry to operate and improve the app (e.g., feature usage, error/crash events, and performance diagnostics).
  • Purchase and license data: For lifetime license purchases we collect the Stripe transaction ID for license validation and support. Note: We do not collect or store your payment method details. All transactions are handled securely by Stripe (PCI-DSS compliant).

How We Use Collected Data

We use the information we collect solely for operating, maintaining, and improving our services.

  • Facilitate the delivery and enforcement of license keys.
  • Detect fraudulent activity and ensure licensing compliance.
  • Enable functionality such as applying wallpapers or submitting uploads.
  • Improve application performance, detect bugs, and maintain stability.
  • Review and moderate user-submitted content, if applicable.

What We Do Not Use Data For

  • Behavioral profiling.
  • Targeted advertising.
  • Selling data to third parties.

Data Storage and Processing

  • Amazon S3 (Stockholm, EU): stores user-submitted wallpapers and related metadata.
  • AWS Lambda (EU): backend logic, submission handling, and license management.
  • Stripe: payment processing and relevant billing metadata.
  • Resend: transactional support emails and license confirmations.
  • Vercel: hosts the Wallper website and provides secure content delivery.
  • We maintain Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) with each provider to ensure compliance with data protection regulations.

User-Submitted Content

Users may optionally submit wallpapers for inclusion in Wallper’s public gallery. By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and distribute the submission within our app.

  • Submissions are reviewed by our moderation team before publication.
  • Approved content becomes publicly visible within the application.
  • Submissions are final — users may not request deletion once approved and published.
  • Private uploads (used solely on your device) remain local and are not uploaded or collected by us.

Legal Basis for Data Processing (GDPR)

If you are located in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, we process your data under the following legal bases:

  • Legitimate interest — ensure reliability and security of the app and enforce our licensing model.
  • Contractual necessity — process payments and deliver license entitlements.
  • Consent — optional public wallpaper uploads and gallery inclusion.

Your Rights (EU/EEA/UK — GDPR)

If you reside in the EU/EEA/UK, you have the following rights under GDPR:

  • Right of access — know what data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification — correct inaccurate or outdated data.
  • Right to erasure — request deletion of your device’s data.
  • Right to restrict processing — in certain limited situations.
  • Right to data portability — receive your data in a portable format.
  • Right to object — to processing based on legitimate interests.

Your Rights (California — CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you may request the following under CCPA/CPRA:

  • Disclosure of categories and specific pieces of personal data collected.
  • Deletion of your personal information.
  • Notification that your data is not sold or shared.
  • To exercise these rights, email support@wallper.app. We will respond within timelines required by law (typically within 45 days).

Data Security

We protect your information with commercially reasonable safeguards, including TLS encryption for data in transit, access controls and monitoring of cloud infrastructure, and role-based permissions for support and administrative access. No system is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to or stored by us.

Children’s Privacy

Our services are not directed to individuals under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect or solicit data from children. If we become aware that we have inadvertently received personal information from a minor, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may amend this Privacy Policy at our discretion. The most current version will always be available at https://wallper.app/privacy. We will notify users of material changes through the app or via our website. Continued use of the services after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

Feedback & Information

Any feedback you provide through the Service or our channels shall be deemed non-confidential, and Wallper may use such information on an unrestricted basis.
