Wallper 1.0.7: Creator Credit on Every Wallpaper
Creator names now appear on preview cards and can be filtered, so you can find more work by someone whose wallpapers you like. Plus instant download cancelling.
Most of Wallper's library is not made by us.
It is made by people who shot footage, built a render, or animated something, and then uploaded it so other people could put it on their desktops. Until 1.0.7 the app did not say so anywhere.
That was an oversight worth fixing quickly, and not only for politeness.
Names on Cards, and Filtering by Them
Creator names now appear directly on preview cards, and are filterable from the bottom bar.
The credit half matters because uncredited work is a bad deal for the person who made it. Someone spends an evening producing a clean seamless loop, uploads it, and their name appears nowhere near it. Do that consistently and people stop uploading, which is a slow way to kill a community library.
The filter half matters because taste travels in groups. Wallpapers are hard to search for by description, since the qualities that make one good are difficult to put into words. But if you like one thing a person made, you will probably like the next, and a creator name is a far better search term than any tag.
That makes attribution a discovery mechanism rather than a courtesy. It happens to be the right thing to do, and it also works better.

Escape to Cancel a Download
Press ESC during a download and it stops immediately.
This is aimed squarely at the way people actually browse: queue up several candidates, start pulling them down, realise from the preview that the third one is not right, and want out of it now rather than after another 200 MB.
Previously there was no way to stop a download once it started, which made trying things feel expensive and encouraged people to be cautious in a library that rewards the opposite.
