Playback

Wallpaper does not play, freezes, or does not apply correctly.

The wallpaper is frozen on the desktop
Open Wallper from the menu bar and click Pause / Resume. If that does not help, set another wallpaper and then switch back. You can also quit Wallper from the menu bar and open it again.
The wallpaper is not playing
First, try setting the wallpaper again from the app. Wallpapers may also pause automatically when another app is in full screen or when performance-saving settings are enabled.
The wallpaper stops after connecting or disconnecting a display
macOS may recreate desktop spaces when displays change. Open Wallper and apply the wallpaper again after connecting or disconnecting a monitor.

Performance & battery

CPU usage, battery life, loading speed, and smoothness.

Will Wallper slow down my Mac?
Wallper is optimized to run efficiently in the background. When an app is in full screen, wallpapers can automatically pause and use virtually no system resources.
Will Wallper drain my battery?
Battery usage is minimal, but live wallpapers still use some system resources. Wallper includes smart settings such as reducing quality on battery and auto-pausing wallpapers to improve efficiency.
Why are wallpapers loading slowly or the app feels slow?
Loading speed depends on your location and internet connection. Wallper servers are currently based in Europe, so loading can be slower if you are farther away. We are already working on improving global performance.
Why does the wallpaper look blurry or low quality?
Check your quality settings. Wallper may reduce quality to improve performance or battery life. For the best visuals, use a high-resolution wallpaper and increase quality in settings.

License & trial

Do I need to create an account?
No. Wallper does not require an account. You can use the app with a 7-day free trial, and after that you only need a one-time Wallper Pro license key.
Where is my license key?
Your license key is shown on the website right after purchase and is also sent to the email you used at checkout. If you cannot find it, contact support@wallper.app with your purchase email and purchase date.
My license key is not working
Make sure the key is copied exactly as shown, without extra spaces. A single Wallper Pro license works on up to 3 personal Macs. If you still cannot activate it, email support@wallper.app.
Can I move my license to another Mac?
Yes. Your Wallper Pro license can be used on up to 3 personal devices. If you switch Macs or reach the limit, contact support and we will help you manage your devices.

Install & update

How do I install Wallper?
Download the latest .dmg from the download page, open it, drag Wallper into Applications, and launch the app.
macOS says Wallper cannot be opened
Wallper is notarized by Apple, but macOS can still show a security warning for apps downloaded from the internet. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway.
Wallper does not start at login
Open System Settings → General → Login Items and make sure Wallper is enabled. You can also toggle Launch at login off and on again inside Wallper settings.
How do I update Wallper?
If the auto-update does not work, download the latest version from the download page, replace the old app in Applications, and launch Wallper again.

Does Wallper support Apple Silicon and Intel Macs?
Yes. Wallper works on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs running macOS 14.6 or newer.
Does Wallper work with external displays?
Yes. Wallper supports external displays, including high-resolution and Retina monitors.
Can I use different wallpapers on each screen?
Yes. You can set different live wallpapers for each display in a multi-monitor setup.
Does Wallper work on Windows or Linux?
No. Wallper is currently available only for macOS.

Lock Screen

How do I set up Lock Screen wallpapers?

Why is the Lock Screen wallpaper not working?
Make sure you are on macOS 26 or newer. Then open Wallper settings, enable Use Lock Screen & Screensaver, and set a wallpaper again. Full guide: Lock Screen setup guide.
Why don’t I see Wallper in System Settings → Wallpaper?
The Wallper section usually appears after the feature is triggered. Enable Use Lock Screen & Screensaver in Wallper settings, then set a wallpaper again. Guide: Lock Screen setup guide.
How do Lock Screen wallpapers work?
Wallper uses native macOS integration and Apple’s Lock Screen pipeline. There are no overlays, background daemons, or hacks. Full guide: Lock Screen setup guide.

My Media & uploads

Personal videos, community uploads, and downloaded wallpapers.

Can I use my own videos as wallpapers?
Yes. Open My Media in Wallper and upload your own video for personal use. It becomes available instantly and stays local on your Mac.
Are personal uploads added to the public library?
No. Videos uploaded for personal use from My Media are not added to the community library.
Can I submit wallpapers to the community library?
Yes. You can submit wallpapers directly from the app. You can also add your author name or source before submitting.
Do community uploads appear instantly?
No. Community submissions are reviewed manually for content, quality, and playback before they appear in the library.
Can I delete downloaded wallpapers?
Yes. Downloaded wallpapers are stored locally and can be removed from the app anytime to free up space.
Where are downloaded wallpapers stored?
Downloaded wallpapers are stored locally on your Mac for fast playback. They are not streamed after download.
