Is there a Wallpaper Engine for Mac?
Wallpaper Engine itself is Windows-only and has no macOS version. Wallper is the native macOS equivalent: video wallpapers on the desktop, the Lock Screen and the screensaver, built on Apple's own frameworks rather than a compatibility layer.
Wallpaper Engine has never shipped a macOS build, and running it through Parallels or Wine means paying for a virtual machine, losing hardware video decoding and getting no Lock Screen or screensaver integration at all.
Wallper was written for macOS from the start. It decodes with AVFoundation and hardware acceleration on Apple Silicon, pauses playback when a full-screen app takes focus or the Mac runs on battery, drives a separate wallpaper per display, and hands Lock Screen playback to Apple's own pipeline on macOS 26 and newer.
